What style of martial arts does WMAAP practice?
The World Martial Arts Academy of Pennsylvania is directly affiliated with the World Martial Arts Association based in Brooklyn, NY and practices the art of Chung Do Kwan, Tae Kwon Do

Where do you practice?
The majority of practice sessions take place at the Western Pocono Community Library located in Brodheadsville, PA.

How often do you practice?
Practice takes place twice a week in the early evening.

Do I need a uniform?
During the first month of practice, new students may wear sweat pants and a white shirt, afterwards, a standard white uniform is required.

Can I come in and watch before I decide to join?
Absolutely, just call 570 269-0096 to schedule an introductory class.

Is there an age limit?
The WMAAP warmly welcomes students from 5 to 105!

Should I bring anything else to practice?
Just an eagerness to learn and a genuine desire to grow and challenge yourself and a bottle of water should do it.

Are there separate class for parents and children?
The WMAAP has found that families who practice together thrive and enjoy the unique bond that grows from a shared experience. We encouarge parents and children to participate together and encourage one another.

Is there any physical contact in Tae Kwon Do?
World Martial Arts Academy of Pennsylvania teaches non-contact philosophy, class rules are significant in maintaining the class structure and ensure that the participant derives all the benefit of the instruction. The following are important guidelines to understand and follow. If you have any questions regarding these or any other instructions, please consult your instructor.

1) Follow the directions of the Instructor. If you have any question about an instruction, or if you believe that a command could be harmful to you or another student, immediately ask the Instructor.

2) Practicing martial arts requires physical exertion. Participants are strongly advised to notify the Instructor at time of registration and at any time of any past or present ailments or injuries. Always consult with a physician before beginning any exercise program. If at any time, you feel weak, dizzy, off-balance or out of breath, cease your activity immediately and seek the Instructor’s attention. Any medical attention given to the participant will be of first aid treatment type only.

3) Do not spar unless under the supervision of the Instructor. During Free Style Sparring, NO OFFENSIVE CONTACT is allowed at any time. There are no kicks to the head, face, neck or groin area allowed. Contact shall be limited to the execution of a defensive move (BLOCKING)during Free Style or Three-Step Sparring practice; provided however, that such defensive moves are properly executed with control and not intended to cause physical injury. NO CONTACT is allowed at any time except as set forth above.

What happens if I have prior martial Arts experience?

Who are your instructors?
The World Martial Arts Academy of PA. was opened several years ago by Mr. Rocco Lombardo, 6th degree black belt who has more than 32 years of Tae Kwon Do instructional experience.
